Established in August, 2009 by Shirley Doucet and Donna Rowsell as a joint venture, to service the local equine community.

Manely Horses was born from a mutual love of horses.

Shirley, a former Medical Technician and major horse lover, wanted to work within the equine industry in some capacity and Donna, a Construction Project Manager, and major horse lover, wanted to do the same.  So, they combined their business strengths to take on this joint venture, and make their dream a reality.

Donna volunteered for six years on the Dwyer Hill Riding Club board and both Shirley and Donna are huge supporters of the Parelli Natural Horsemanship program.  So much so, that Shirley was able to spend a month in Florida last year with her horse Rein, training at the Parelli Centre.

We are anxious to serve our customers.  We strive to offer something different, something better, and if you want it, we will move heaven and earth to try to get it for you.  We have made the tack shop pilgrimages to Ottawa and we didn’t want to have to do that anymore and figured there were a lot of other riders who felt the same way.   We are proud to be members of this wonderful community.

Our long range plans included in store information nights, a mobile tack store for shows, new product line information evenings, and special nights set aside for larger barn owners and their students to have the store to themselves.

We are excited and the support so far has been tremendous.
